About Hill Country Conservancy

Hill Country Conservancy (HCC) is a nonprofit organization based in Austin, TX, with a mission to preserve vital natural resources through conservation, community collaboration, and engagement to sustain our region, now and forever.

Texas Land Protection

Proceeds from Hill Country Nights go directly to HCC's crucial conservation work. Today, HCC holds conservation easements on over 14,000 acres of environmentally sensitive lands, and has helped preserve an additional 45,000 acres in the Edwards Aquifer region. HCC is nationally accredited and is recognized in the land trust community as a knowledgable, strategic leader.

Violet Crown Trail

Support through Hill Country Nights is also critical in maintaining the Violet Crown Trail, the only trail in Austin that is 100% maintained by a nonprofit organization. The trail currently stretches 13 miles from Zilker Park to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, providing much-needed recreational access to nature for the Austin community. Once complete, the trail will extend for a total 30 miles and will be the largest trail system of its kind in Central Texas.
